Barely A few days After Aso Rock Face-off, Jonathan, Amaechi Bury Riff, Embrace In Public.

Barely 72 hours after security personnel stopped Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State from approaching President Goodluck Jonathan at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja, both men embraced publicly yesterday in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State capital.

The embrace took place at the Port-Harcourt International Airport when Jonathan was returning from his home state of Bayelsa where he commissioned a hospital facility.

Presidential Villa operatives had, on Wednesday, blocked Amaechi from getting to Jonathan  at the seat of power during a dinner, an action that was interpreted in many quarters as stemming from the crisis in the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF).

Rivers PDP Congratulate Jang, Amaechi Didnt Win NGF Chairmanship.

In what may be termed as the deepest cut of all, the Rivers State chapter of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) has congratulated Plateau State Governor, Jonah Jang, in his victory as the Nigerian Governors Forum (NGF) Chairman. The state chapter declared that they recognize Jang and not Rotimi Amaechi, the Rivers State Governor, as the authentic NGF Chairman.

In a statement by the state PDP's Publicty Secretary, Mr. Nwanosike Samuel, the PDP said “Amaechi did not win, Amaechi is an Agent of destruction working against the agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan’s Transformation Agenda and beside election was not concluded he went outside to address Press, that is a criminal act, Amaechi cannot come out and say he is the Chairman, the right Chairman is Jonah Jang, the authentic Chairman is Jonah Jang”.

News Reports Suggests First lady held meeting with Rivers security chiefs over Amaechi

Many would have been surprised that President Goodluck Jonathan travelled to South Africa on a state visit and left his wife behind. Usually, Patience Jonathan, the first lady, accompanies the president during foreign visits, even on working visits.

It turned out that she had an important task to perform back home if some reports about the matter are to be believed.

The first lady staunchly denies this, but there are reports that she was in Bayelsa where she held a meeting with some security chiefs serving in Rivers state.
