LIPSTICK INFORMATION

This comes from someone
Who works in the breast cancer unit at
... Mt. Sinai Hospital , in Toronto ..
From: Dr. Nahid Neman
If there is a female you care anything about,
Share this with her.
I am also sharing this with everyone on my e-mail list,
Because males too need to tell the females THEY care about as well!
Recently a lipstick brand called 'Red Earth'
Decreased their prices from
$67 to $9.90.
It contained lead.
Lead is a chemical which causes cancer.
The lipstick brands that contain lead are:
CHRISTIAN DIOR
LANCÔME
CLINIQUE
Y.S.L
ESTEE LAUDER
SHISEIDO
RED EARTH (Lip Gloss)
CHANEL (Lip Conditioner)
MARKET AMERICA-MOTNES LIPSTICK.
The higher the lead content,
The greater the chance of causing cancer.
After doing a test on lipsticks,
It was found that the Y.S.L. Lipstick
Contained the most amount of lead.
Watch out for those lipsticks
Which are supposed to stay longer.
If your lipstick stays longer, it is
Because of the higher content of lead.
Here is the test you can do yourself:
1. Put some lipstick on your hand.
2. Use a Gold ring to scratch on the lipstick.
3. If the lipstick colour changes to black,
Then you know the lipstick contains lead.
Please send this information to all yourgirlfriends, Wives and female family members.

Especially breast cancer.

Fashion, Business, Entrepreneurship and humble beginnings make up Daymond John

Guest blog post by: , NY Urban Fashion Examiner

On bright and sunny day in NYC, sitting in the waiting area on the 66th floor of the Empire State Building awaits this already inspired writer as he is about to interview one of the most iconic, and accomplished men in the fashion world to ever come out of the city of New York, Daymond John.  Over the last 20 years, Daymond has evolved from one of the most successful fashion icons of his generation to one of the most sought after branding experts, business, and motivational speakers in the country.

Daymond’s creative vision and strong knowledge of the marketplace helped him create one of the most iconic fashion brands in recent years. FUBU, standing for “For Us By Us”, represented a lifestyle that was neglected by other clothing companies. Realizing this need in the marketplace, Daymond created the untapped urban apparel space and laid the groundwork for other companies to compete in this newly established market.  Daymond grew up in the community of Hollis, Queens, quickly becoming known as the birthplace of the new genre of music called Hip-Hop, with acts like RUN DMC and Salt-N-Pepa rapidly making names for themselves. The brand hit a tipping point when Daymond convinced Hollis native and Hip-Hop superstar, LL Cool J, to wear FUBU for a promotional campaign. This was the catalyst behind the entire Hip-Hop community supporting the new brand and instantly giving it credibility.

FUBU eventually recorded annual sales of $350 million, placing it in the same stratosphere as designer sportswear labels such as Donna Karan New York and Tommy Hilfiger.  In 2009, John joined the cast of the ABC entrepreneurial business show, Shark Tank, produced by acclaimed TV producer Mark Burnett. As one of the “Sharks”, Daymond and four other prominent executives listen to business pitches from everyday people hoping to launch their company or product to new heights. Investing his own money in every project, Daymond becomes partners with the entrepreneurs helping turn their dreams into a reality. Millions of viewers tune into the show as Daymond demonstrates his marketing prowess and entrepreneurial insights.
Daymond created Shark Branding, which provides companies with the marketing insights that have made Daymond’s companies successful over the years. Daymond also entered the literary world with his two books, “Display of Power” and his second book “The Brand Within”.  He has a third book on the way as well as many other business ventures in the works.

Shark Tank began last season with a huge showing with 6.9 million viewers, with outspoken co-hosts Robert Herjavec, former owner of an IT security firm, Barbara Corcoran, former owner of the real estate company, The Corcoran Group, Kevin O'Leary, co-host of CBC's The Lang and O'Leary Exchange, and former president of The Learning Company, Kevin Harrington, pioneer in the infomercial industry, Mark Cuban, owner of the Dallas Mavericks, Landmark Theatres, and chairman of the HDTV cable network HDNet, Jeff Foxworthy, Grammy Award winner, author and TV host and Daymond John, founder of the clothing company FUBU, this season will be full of scheming, back handed deals, arguments, hurt feeling and a lot of money to be invested.  Season 3 of Shark Tank starts Friday January 20th at 8:00pm on ABC.
I spent a few with Mr. Daymond John as we discussed FUBU, Shark Tank and advice on business here is a sample of our discussion:
There was a long standing rumor that you and your partners at FUBU sold the company and no longer get along, is that true?
We do still get along and we still hangout.  We all have different things that we’re doing, do we fight? Yes, but at the end we’re brothers and we will always be brothers and partners.

Finding the perfect place for our family's treasured photos.

Guest post written by Brandi Collins

One thing that I've made a kind of project for our home is putting more family photos into all of the rooms. I noticed over the holidays that we only have a few photos up and thought that it would be best to try and put a lot of our special ones up.

We have so many great photos and I just haven't done the work to print them and put them in frames. While I was online looking up some of that stuff, I ran across some info on kitchen remodeling and looked up more info here. That's something that we talked about doing this year anyway, so we're going to do the kitchen remodel through the site.

I scrounged up a bunch of my home photography and went through them to see which ones would be suitable for the rest of the rooms. It will take a little longer to find all the perfect pictures and get them perfect, but I think that it will really make our house look more like ours.

People's Choice Awards: Best and worst dressed.

The People's Choice Awards red carpet was hit and miss Thursday night, but what I noticed most is that there was so much Fashion with a capital "F." More than ever, the objective on the red carpet seemed to be to say, "Look at me! I can make a fashion statement!"

Fashion is big business for today's Hollywood stars. Part of the career plan is landing lucrative endorsement deals and advertising campaigns, and maybe even having a clothing collection of one's own some day. Which is probably why young stars are out to prove they can play the designer fashion game.

It could also be that stars (and their stylists) are realizing that the public expects more from the red carpet now that we all have a more sophisticated understanding of fashion, thanks to TV shows and blogs that provide unending commentary on who is wearing what, and designers themselves taking to the judges' chair on "Project Runway."

We expect the red carpet to look like a runway. Meaning that it's not enough for an actress or singer to dress attractively or sexily, she must dress like she's working a look. Everyone's a fashion critic, and stars have to give us something to chew on.

But back to Thursday night. I never thought I would say this, but Miley Cyrus was the best-dressed! Her cream dress by up-and-coming London designer David Koma had loads of interesting details -- a plunging neckline, sheer insets, iridescent details at the hem. It was more sophisticated than anything she has worn before, but to the point I made above, it did not overwhelm her, like Lea Michele's draped-and-fringed Marchesa gown did her.

I'm all for a tuxedo on a woman, but Emma Stone's green Gucci number didn't quite work. It was less sleek le smoking, and more toot toot bandleader. Faith Hill is someone who always seems to get it right, and I liked the red Bill Blass dress she wore to walk the red carpet, as well as the red jumpsuit she wore when she performed onstage. Red was a big color for the night. Kaley Cuoco's red bubble skirted Naeem Khan dress was charming (the best of all she wore during the event), as was Jane Leeves' Jay Carlile gown. And I've been a huge fan of Ginnifer Goodwin's style for a long time too. She looked great in a shocking pink Roksanda Ilincic dress with bell sleeves and lace Jimmy Choo booties.
There were a lot of misses too -- mostly because the dresses were too tight (Cobie Smulders' Reem Acra), too trashy (Demi Lovato's Marchesa), or trying too hard (Jennifer Lawrence in Viktor & Rolf and Jennifer Morrison in Oscar de la Renta).
