Madura Fashion & Lifestyle today said its premium brand Van Heusen has launched a new range of fashionable formals called X-Lifestyle, designed for modern professionals.
"We are launching a new innovative range, which is an addition to our
brand Van Heusen. It tends to make corporates more fashionable. It has
bolder checks and stripes, inner detailing patterns, slimmer fits,"
Madura Fashion & Lifestyle chief executive officer Ashish Dixit told
PTI.
The Aditya Birla company has tied up with private carrier Jet AirwaysBSE 2.85 %, to co-brand the brand on one of its aircrafts.
"We thought since most corporates are frequent air-fliers, we thought
this will help to communicate better with them," he said.
The new product will be available across all cities where the company retail its products.
Van Heusen clocked a turnover of Rs 900 crore in FY12 and the brand is
expecting a turnover of Rs 2,000 crore in the next five years.
On the new range's contribution to revenues, Dixit said, "it is too
early to say anything but we think it will have substantial contribution
to our sales."

Fresh: New lifestyle magazines offer bridal, student, Sunday reading.
Magazine readers can browse through the new annual bridal guide, True Love Bride, the new sized i Mag lifestyle guide in City Press or the 12th edition of student life, Yes! Lifestyle Mag.
Bridal guide extends to adviceThe team that produces True Love magazine has gathered advice for brides that goes beyond gowns, venues and checklists for the big day. It includes South African celebrities, who share their honeymoon snaps, and advice for choosing the perfect destination, advice from columnist Ndumiso Ngcobo on communication, while other features include great reasons to go for counselling before you tie the knot and some important questions to discuss before walking down the aisle.
The editor, Lerato Tshabalala, says, "Fairy tales and romcoms have succeeded in making us buy into the notion that love conquers all. However, once the big day is over - when the dress has been discarded, the last bottle of bubbly disappeared and the guests have gone home - it is then that the real hard work starts.
"Getting married is not about the wedding - it's about the years that follow that single day of celebration - and we wanted to give our readers a bridal guide that equips them with some of the tools that they will need to make a success of the biggest commitment of their lives.
"The magazine is a trusted best friend to women. It was really important to us that we maintain that role in this special bridal issue. So many bridal magazines focus only the fluff and the fantasy of the big day - we felt strongly that True Love Bride should give its readers the kind of insightful and helpful guidance about everything from fashion to relationships that they expect from the magazine every month."
Chatting to Chad
Yes! Lifestyle Mag has just launched its 12th issue, featuring DJ Fresh as the 'King of the Power Nap' on the front cover and an interview with Olympic gold swimmer, Chad Le Clos. The magazine also features a Spring fashion shoot with Cotton On, Anonamiss and Twenty Model Management. The 52-page, glossy magazine that circulates 10 000 copies to high traffic areas and tertiary educational institutes throughout the Western Cape can be seen online at www.yeslifestylemag.com.
Compact yet complete
From 14 October 2012, the size of i Mag, the Sunday lifestyle magazine of City Press, will modify to A4. The compact magazine remains filled with premium lifestyle content including celebrity news, features, fashion and food. City Press GM, Minette Ferreira says, "We operate in an ever-changing environment and the size change is in step with the ebb and flow of our evolving strategies. It has proven to be an invaluable part of the City Press bouquet every Sunday and is integral to our content mix. The magazine will keep on delivering in terms of quality, entertaining content...no matter the size!"

Its Not all about the hairstyle: Vivienne Westwood Spring Summer 13
The Hair Look: Global Exotic
There was not just one hair look at the Vivienne Westwood S/S 13 show at Paris Fashion Week – there were several. The looks ranged from a foppish masculine quiff to Baroque inspired bouffant to soft romantic maidens and played on different hair textures and shapes.
The clothing collection with its climate revolution message drew inspiration from a range of influences from insects to art.
To achieve the looks Sam McKnight and his team combined hair styling techniques both old and new. From braiding and setting the hair to create a halo of volume, to using a conditioning masque as a multitasking pomade for a more masculine look, each unique style was tweaked to celebrate the individual personalities
of the girls.
Get the look – masculine quiff:
Always start with freshly washed and conditioned hair. Pantene Pro V Aqua Light hair Shampoo and Conditioner provides the perfect base for this look.
Apply an ample amount of Pantene Pro V Classic Ultra Strong Mousse to damp or dry hair. Blow dry hair away from the face.
Clip away the top section of hair leaving hair in place each side from the arch of the eyebrow downwards.
Spray Pantene Pro V Instant Damage Defence Conditioning Spray into the two side sections and using a fine toothcomb to smooth out the hair pull the
two side sections together and secure at the back of the head.
Release the top section of hair and blow dry using your fingers to lift the roots and give you even more volume.
Remove hair elastic at back of the head (the sides should remain in place). Using the Pantene Pro V 2 Min Deep Repair Masque for Fine Hair as a styling aide, apply to the hair with your fingers and rake through to the ends to give a heavy textured effect.
Take the top section above the slick sides and twist into a pleat forcing a quiff at the top of the head. Ensure the quiff is set in place adding more Pantene Pro-V 2 Min Deep Repair Masque for Fine Hair and pins as needed.

Chloé: The story of a fashion legend at 60.

While Chloé's spring/summer 2013 collection was unveiled in Paris during fashion week, an exhibition celebrating the label's 60th anniversary is currently showing at the French capital's Palais de Tokyo centre.
The timing of Clare Waight Keller's latest designs hitting the catwalk, coinciding with a look back at the history of the label she now runs in the Chloé.Attitudes exhibition, serves as a reminder of the inspiring heritage of this Parisian fashion house.
Stella McCartney, Phoebe Philo and Hannah MacGibbon all designed for Chloé, but it is the Egyptian-born Gaby Aghion who began it all. She might not be a household name like her brand, but the 91-year-old is a pioneer when it comes to women designing for other women.

If brand-awareness was one pioneering concept, Aghion has also been credited with inventing a luxe version of ready-to-wear – something that appealed to a growing demographic of working women who, even if they had the money, didn't have the time for couture's endless fittings. Instead, she advocated a concept we now take for granted – designer clothes sold off the peg, wearable that night. They were all about an easy chic; shirtdresses, blouses and neat cigarette silhouettes became Chloé signatures under Aghion. It was a capsule way of dressing, and you can see her influence over current female designers, and the Chloé alumni, Philo and McCartney.
Once remarking that "fashion should be as fresh as a salad", Aghion was a great supporter of emerging talent – hiring a young Karl Lagerfeld early in his career, as well as other designers including Martine Sitbon. Lagerfeld, however, is an exception that proves the rule – across the nine key designers covered in Chloé.Attitudes, it's evident that this is brand that celebrates women designing for women.
