Humans have been trolling the earth ever since the biological coming together of the universe. Trolling within the context of my usage herein is in the positive light, but it draws a negative shame, when the true accounts of man's parade through his tussles and quest to make relevance on the earth is place to question. Humans know better to be upright in their dealings and interractions from all angles, yet, the reverse is almost the case.
The events across the world over the last couple of decades is crippling albeit terrifying. That the things that went down during the course of recent history actually were the case leaves so much to be desired. Many questions will be asked, many have been asked before now; and more will go down, just as accounts taken can not all be answered, but the common factor is that, man has been his own worst enemy. Each one of us has evolved over time to be a bane to others and this has threatened the collective scrutiny of every bid we can make at forging a decent world, one which we can call home. How bad things have become!
Some days back, news made the rounds that a group of men dressed in uniform took seige of a shopping mall, somehwre in Kenya. These men, identified by witnesses as islamic jihadists/conformists took to killing at will. Death toll at the first time of reporting was to the call of 30 people. What and why the course of their endeavour was, still leaves many wondering. But the core factor, which many thinkers will ruminate and sinker is the religious bearing such tumultuous amd devilish act bely. MEN, killing to appease Religious angradisement. How low people can go in their thinking and convictions?
Religion has been a drive for humans over a long period of recognisable history. The intrigues of religious tolerance and acceptance has been a mainstay of most social and secualr debates, yet most people adhere to the conformations attached to it. I, as a mindful person strongly believe that religion is a vice, a product of man's archetypical mind boggle and its but a sad farce. There is God, made by man and has been place as the object of his emotive desires and fantasy. Man made God and not the other way. God lives in the mind, and religion remains a mind game.
The Kenyan killings is but one among the many odious crimes commited around the world in the name of religion. How religion which was initially designed to promote and nurture global peace now has become a device for civil unrest is troubling. Where did we get it wrong? At what stage in history was the ideology of the earliest minders truncated with civic challenges or should i say socio-pathic subjugations. Something is wrong somehwere, and that place is not so far from us. Our mind! We need a mind reconstruction. The human mind cannot go so awry as not to be savoured to rediscovery, it only takes cognition and press determination. We can do it, no need pushing for another day. We live now in a tiring world where just no one is safe.
My heart go out to the family of the slain people in Kenya. May they have the fortitude to bear the painful loss.
